Reports To: Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor
DescriptionThe Maintenance/Facilities Technician assists the maintenance team by completing maintenance and preventative maintenance activities for the facility and equipment. The Maintenance/Facilities Technician works closely with the Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment for all employees.
Maintenance Technician I
Responsibilities
•Complete machine and facility maintenance projects for the Walker facility as assigned
•Execute preventative maintenance program for both machine and facility maintenance
•Work with other Maintenance Technicians to provide maintenance support on a 24-hour basis
•Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems and failures
•Help maintain corrective work order system for maintenance and facilities repairs
•Assist with the installation of new equipment
•Help manage inventories of necessary parts and supplies
•Repair and maintain the building's interior electrical system as assigned
•Perform light construction projects
•Perform simple electrical repair and installation
•Follow safety guidelines and practice 5S to keep work area neat and organized
•Help develop SOPs and work instructions for key maintenance processes
•Perform similar duties as required
Requirements
•High school diploma or GED equivalency
•2 years experience in maintenance or machine repair
•Working knowledge of machine electrical components (motors, controls, drives, and switches)
•Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
•Expertise using basic hand, power and specialized tools
•Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical/maintenance problems and resolve them quickly
•A "self starter" requiring minimal supervision and guidance
•Ability to work flexible hours to meet immediate needs and long term goals
•Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds
•Ability to climb, stoop, kneel and crouch
Preferred
•Experience maintaining fabrication equipment (mills, routers, punch presses CNCs)
•AS degree or Journeyman Electrician License
