Position: FHS Restorative Practice Coordinator
Reports to: FHS Principal and administrative staff
Salary: $30,000 Annually
Location: Ferndale High School
Group: EduStaff
Schedule: 185 Days Annually
Start Date: ASAP
Responsible for implementing Restorative Practices at Ferndale High School. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working directly with youth and adults to resolve conflict, building positive relationships with school staff, and promoting the program within the school.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor Degree preferred
- Ability to work effectively with youth and at risk students
- Ability to organize and prioritize cases and day to day responsibilities
- Background in Restorative Practices required
- Excellent decision making, problem solving skills, and de-escalation skills
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively promote the use of the program with staff, families and community
- Responsible for the implementation and outcomes of Restorative Practices and providing Tier 2 interventions for targeted students
- Follow entrance and exit criteria for RP
- Work closely with administration, counselors and teaching staff to ensure student support
- Hold student support groups daily to provide guidance, re-direction and encouragement to students and complete follow ups with student, teacher and family in a timely and organized fashion
- Document student agreements and follow ups with student, teacher and family in a timely and organized fashion
- Collect outcomes data for conferences/mediation and follow-ups
- Process conference/mediation intakes with students and staff
- Work with other Restorative Practice Coaches within district to align RP secondary practices
- Assist with building safety and security to build and maintain strong relationships with students and staff
- Work with FYA and SEOC staff to support proactive, intervention efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Other relevant qualifications may be considered. Restorative Philosophy and Conferencing training will be provided. The search for a highly qualified applicant for this position is not restricted to this district.
