The Interior Functional Plastics Engineering Team is responsible for designing and developing new vehicle interiors to exceed customer expectations and competitive requirements. The Product Release Engineer will be responsible for interior vehicle packaging and releasing. The Engineer will define customer requirements in terms of engineering metrics and define design direction, maintaining all critical program milestones, balancing priorities of multiple customers and executing designs through vehicle launch. The selected candidate will also be responsible for establishing physical and functional integration of functional plastics components for interior designs through all phases of the program. This includes the planning phase, translating functional objectives into technical requirements and solutions, creating and analyzing alternative design concepts, packaging, and integrating system, components, and benchmarking of competitive vehicles.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
•A minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive plastics product design/release engineering
•Knowledge and application of: GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R, FEA, and interior or seat packaging
•Engineering release experience (BOMs, PNs, drawings, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
•NX / Teamcenter usage
•DFSS and Reactive Problem solving training
•Seat specific product engineering experience
