The Product Engineer- EE Components/Ergo Switches is responsible for the technical development and release of electromechanical and smart/LIN switches for the Electrical Components organization. The candidates will have a proven track record with EE component design, development, packaging, testing, calibration, and releasing. The Engineer will interface with systems group to define vehicle level functional specifications and will: develop component level specifications; participate in product assurance planning (Program Management); manage the supplier of the components; and component DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis), DVRR (Design Validation and Reliability Report), and timing proactive quality plan. The candidate will also participate in reactive quality problem solving and will be supporting Supplier Quality during Process Sign-off (PS) and PFMEA reviews (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis). In addition, the Engineer will be releasing components via Change Management System (CN’s) and will interface with EMEA, APAC and LATAM counterparts on global commonality.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•3+ years of experience releasing automotive electronic/electromechanical components
•Strong leadership skills (prepared to lead a supplier team)
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
•Greenbelt in DFSS or studying to be a green belt in DFSS
•Self-starter that is highly motivated
•Electronic module product development experience
•Vehicle electrical troubleshooting experience
•CAN/LIN bus troubleshooting experience
