Position: District Transformation Executive Assistant (12 month)
Hours: Flexible (may change based upon daily needs) Monday through Friday
Pay Rate: $14.45-$21.50 (based upon experience)
Primary Function:
Under the supervision of the Superintendent, the District Transformation Executive Assistant is a centrally assigned position. The District Transformation Executive Assistant will be accountable for leading and coordinating an effective district improvement effort (this is an annually grant funded position).
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will assist in the launch, implementation and maintenance of the district transformation plan including preparing materials for and attendance at meetings (within and outside of the regular work day), developing internal and external communication materials, researching best practices and facilitating the implementation of transformation projects. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to attain dramatic gains in furthering district transformation efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates actively on the District Transformation Team.
- Shares leadership of the continued focus on deep implementation, ongoing monitoring and reflection, and revision of the district theory of action and strategic plan.
- Identifies successful and promising practices within the district and outside of the district in order to support the replication of these models.
- Provides as needed technical assistance and project support for the varied needs of the transformation efforts.
- Prepares written reports, policy documents, and educational tools and resources.
- Develops materials to codify and communicate the district’s strategy and framework for district transformation.
- Formats guides, handouts, handbooks and other written materials associated with implementation of the strategic plan.
- Prepares meeting agendas and participates in meetings to take notes and synthesize learning.
- Develops project management materials.
- Documents processes and procedures.
- Assists with grant reporting.
- Prepares presentations and documents for public information
- Documents ongoing learning, challenges and opportunities associated with the overall implementation of the strategic plan.
- Is a public champion for the district’s Transformation efforts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of demonstrated effectiveness in a project or program management role OR as a teacher or school administrative employee. Education experience is not required.
- Bachelors in Education, Organizational Management or related field
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledgeable about instructional improvement for equity (Systems and Structures for ongoing continuous improvement, standards-aligned instructional planning and teaching, effective use of assessment, culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy).
- Experienced with utilizing data for informed decision making.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current research related to school reform, school improvement and educational equity.
- Able to collaborate with District and school-based administrators and programs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Views self as a positive change agent. Uses failures as opportunities, and celebrates success.
- Prowess in communication skills; making shifts in communication methods and feedback loops to match the audience; orally and in writing.
- High degree of planning and organization skills.

- Demonstrated proficiencies in multiple technologies, project management, problem solving and multitasking are required.
SKILLS
Proficient in the following software/programs
- Adobe Pro and InDesign – formatting focus, experience in creating layout and final product of books or similar text related items in InDesign
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
