Job Description

Fisher Dynamics Metal Forming, a division of Fisher & Company, has an immediate need for a CNC Machinist to support our tool room in Troy.

CNC Machinist should be proficient with Haas milling to support production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Programs mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Document and record various data for the departmentMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Various other duties as required by the department

Job Requirements

Skills

Haas CNC Operating experince
AutoCAD and MasterCam
Strong mechanical ability and problem solving skills sufficient to perform fabrication and build activities
Blue Print reading
Ability to calculate speeds and feeds and perform machine offsets
Knowledge of ISO/TS16949
Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and suppliers
Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required
Ability to work effectively with people

Experience

2+ years experience or comparable education or certification program

Education

High school diploma

Licensure

Valid driver’s license, hi-lo license, and accredited certificate required.

Safety

Safety glasses and hearing protection required. Other safety equipment required on an as needed basis.

Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment. Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant, including second story areas. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required, as well as the ability to grip and hold hand tools.
