General Position Description:
The Product Application Engineer provides support in the areas of structural review, system application, and development of new and existing products. The Product Applications Engineer determines the suitability of product applications using knowledge of specified materials, components, assemblies and systems along with manufacturing, fabrication and installation processes. The Product Application Engineer works with clients, vendors and internal resources to analyze and resolve problems, and improve product performance and reliability.
Principle Duties and Accountabilities:
•Provide accurate, timely responses to customer requests regarding product application
•Maximize sales and client satisfaction by recommending appropriate products and solutions
•Build strong client relationships through clear, accurate and timely communications
•Provide superior service and technical support to clients, architects, vendors and manufacturing regarding product applications
•Develop standard details and installation instructions for new and existing products
•Create new aluminum extrusion and part drawings from sketches
•Create job specific detail drawings for clients and architects
•Check aluminum extrusions and parts for compliance with drawings.
•Interface with purchasing, manufacturing and clients to resolve product engineering issues,
•Perform basic structural reviews for clients as requested by Engineering Supervisor.
Position Requirements:
•Proficient in the use of AutoCAD (including solid modeling)
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Associate Degree minimum, Bachelor's Degree preferred in Mechanical, Civil, Architecture, or Industrial Engineering or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
•Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and efficiently
•Possess basic understanding of manufacturing and business processes
•Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
•Some travel required
Requirements, Preferred
•Experience in Architectural /Construction related position
•Experience with Autodesk Inventor
