The Distribution Team members are cross-trained in a variety of roles that include: Order Picker, Truck Loader, Slot Punch and Material Handler. The Distribution team works together to pile down, pick, punch, pack and send materials to clients and finisher. The Distribution team works to ensure that all orders are picked and packed correctly and sent out per schedule.
The Distribution Team members wear required PPE: safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, ear plugs and, where required, hard hats. The team works safely to ensure that employees do not incur bodily harm. The team uses care and respect to ensure that equipment and/or property is not damaged. The team works together to keep the distribution area clean.
All Distribution Team members perform these job functions to complete the daily schedule. All team members are required to have a valid Hi-Lo license.
Order Picker
•Sort pick orders based on priority, type and schedule to ensure all orders are completed on time
•Working with a team mate, locate and pick error-free orders as scheduled
•Document completed orders with sales number, cradle and quantity
•Audit cradles to ensure accuracy
•Band completed orders in preparation for shipment
•Scrap product per scrap procedure when necessary
•Utilizing Misery Report, locate missing/late material and take necessary steps to ensure product is sent out per schedule
•Unload ovens and pile down when available.
Truck Loader
•Verify work orders to identify correct materials for each truck
•Operate overhead crane to load cradles of materials into trucks for shipment
•Document cradle number and weight
•Scrap product per scrap procedure when necessary
•Utilizing Misery Report, locate missing/late material and take necessary steps to ensure product is sent out per schedule
•Unload ovens and pile down when available.
Slot Punch Operator
•Verify correct dies for sales orders. Notify Maintenance when dies need to be changed
•Select and punch extrusions on slot punch machine per schedule. Place punched extrusions in Hold area.
•Document completed work orders and turn in to scheduling department
•Scrap product per scrap procedure when necessary
•Utilizing Misery Report, locate missing/late material and take necessary steps to ensure product is sent out per schedule
•Unload ovens and pile down when available.
Material Handler
•Unload ovens
•Using cradle documentation, pile down newly extruded material to correct locations
•Measure material hardness and document per procedure
•Scrap product per scrap procedure when necessary
•Using Misery Report, locate missing/late material and take the necessary steps to ensure product is sent out per schedule
Position Requirements:
•Must have high school diploma or GED
•Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
•Must be able to bend easily at the waist.
•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
•Must be able to read work instructions.
•Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills
•Must have demonstrated excellent attendance
•Must have reliable transportation
•Must be able to use small hand tools, including hammers, screw drivers, etc.
