The Maintenance Technician assists the maintenance team by completing maintenance and preventative maintenance activities for the equipment.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities include, but not limited to:
•Using problem solving methods, assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical and/or facility problems.
•Assist in the repair of equipment to efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime.
•Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
•Assist with the monitoring of PLC programs, trouble-shoot and make modifications as necessary
•Perform building maintenance as scheduled.
•Assist with performing electrical work (including specking and installing electrical circuits) and maintenance as scheduled.
•Perform light construction and/or building projects as necessary.
•Perform welding and pipe fitting work as required.
•Assist in the installation of new equipment as required.
•Properly store and maintain tools and equipment in the Maintenance Department.
•Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion to facilitate work and minimize safety hazards.
•Perform other maintenance duties as required by Supervisor.
•Complete required paperwork
Position Requirements:
•4 years or more of maintenance experience in an industrial environment
•4 or more years of mechanical experience, including hydraulics and pneumatics
•Willingness and aptitude to learn how to run PLCs
•Willingness and aptitude to learn circuitry and 180 volt wiring
•Experience in basic carpentry, welding and painting
•Ability to effectively problem solve mechanical and electrical issues.
•Ability to work independently
•Strong math aptitude
•Basic computer skills
•Able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours
•Able to bend easily at the waist
•Able to lift up to 50 pounds
•Have excellent attendance and reliable transportation
•High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Requirements
•2 year Technical degree
