Job Description/Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for leading and providing technical expertise to Customer Field Solutions Gas Customer Service Utility II/III/IV workers who respond to gas emergencies, perform gas fuel line work, appliance light-up's and gas meter work. You may also be leading a group of Gas Customer Service Worker B's & A's that perform work on customer's appliances, furnaces, hot water tanks and air conditioning units. You will be a safety leader and promoter of safe work behaviors. This involves facilitating safety meetings and directing work to established work plans and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various employee groups (Management, Union, collaborate with other support organizations), ability to work independently, demonstrated instruction/coaching and problem solving skills. The chosen candidate must possess the ability to resolve employee and customer conflicts, have demonstrated strong communication, team building, leadership and problem-solving skills and a willingness to lead and motivate team members in an increasingly competitive business environment, while encouraging employee engagement.
Requirements/Qualifications
•A High School Diploma is or equivalent is required.
•Technical knowledge in Gas transmission, distribution, and metering or Gas compression and storage gained either through a technical field of study and/or through related work experience.
The following skills / experience may set you apart from others:
•Experience working as a team member with a strong background in HVAC, utility work and appliance repair.
•Experience and knowledge in metering, regulation, pressures, fuel lines, gas leak and emergency response procedures are also a plus.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, evaluation and supervision of employees assigned to the operation, maintenance and construction of Gas distribution systems, customer Gas services, buildings and grounds or utility support areas. Recommends proposed changes and enhancements to systems and facilities operation; responds to complaints and requests for information; prepares and maintains reports of completed job orders and the status of jobs in progress. Inspects job sites to check on work progress, assures satisfactory completion and plans new assignments; prepares requisitions for operations and maintenance supplies, equipment and materials and supervises special projects as required. Conducts regular safety meetings, participates as a member of safety committee; investigates and completes necessary incident reports and accident reports; maintains records, prepares and submits required reports for appropriate agencies. Implements preventative maintenance programs. Regular attendance is expected.
Hours and Travel
This position requires the individual to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a majority of the time spent in the office or specific field locations. Individual needs to be willing to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines or assist with storm restoration activities and could be given very short notice to do so. Individual should be willing to participate in the on-call rotation in case of potential storms. Individual may have to work outside of assigned headquarters to help with storm restoration which may require overnight stays. Could potentially work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the customer, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime. Individual must have a valid driver's license.
