The Electric Motor Product Engineer Specialist is responsible for the design and development of electric motors and motor components for automotive electrification applications and develop product description and specification and provide technical assistance to other motor engineers. The Engineer will coordinate prototype build and dyno test activities. He/she will stay abreast of new motor technology including benchmarking and lead motor design activities and lead electromagnetic design and 2nd tire component development. The Engineer will execute eMotor technical roadmap and develop concept motor designs to meet vehicle requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
•Minimum of 5 years of motor electromagnetic design
•Experience of electric motor thermal, structural, and NVH, FEA simulation and testing
•Knowledge of electric motor manufacturing processes
•Knowledge of motor design principles, operation, testing, and reliability
•Knowledge of motor subcomponents such as steel, magnets, wire, insulation and the supply base
•Knowledge of different motor technologies, IPM, IM, Axial flux, SRM
Preferred Qualifications:
•Familiarity with automotive product development processes and project management
•Excellent problem solving techniques and analytical ability
•Excellent leadership skills
•Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and with others
