The Body Advanced Service Development Lead proactively participates in the Body Product Development process providing the "Voice of the Service Customer" and the "Voice of the Technician" during the development and over the life of the vehicle to ensure optimal service strategy and maintainability Additionally, the Lead Body Serviceability is expected to act as the Collision Repair Specialist and be the Mopar liaison with the Vehicle Engineering and the Collision Repair Industry, responsible for ensuring that FCA product designs meet optimal damageability, insurability, and collision repair standards. This candidate will be familiar with IIHS and RCAR test modes and can calculate crash test collision repair costs. The Collision Repair Specialist will deliver functional and performances targets, and work closely with new vehicle program teams to reduce vehicle damageability costs and improve collision reparability. The ideal candidate would also be expected to assist in homologation efforts in markets that require auto insurer requirements, work with engineering to define locations and methodology for partial panel replacement guidelines for body structures and truck frames, assist in the development of corporate body repair manuals by identifying/developing proper repair procedures, and monitor the global insurance industry for changes to vehicle testing and methodologies used to establish premium rate setting.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree from an accredited school
•5+ years of automotive technical experience in Auto Body/Collision Repair
•2+ years of working with automotive body structures, lighting, facias, wiper systems, doors, glass, etc...
•2+ years of collision body repair experience (Writing estimates or body shop experience)
•Demonstrated technical understanding of field repair techniques & industry service practices
•Previous experience interfacing with Engineering/manufacturing personnel
•Experienced in working with manufacturing facilities
•Understands process development, program management and problem solving techniques
•Experienced in performing standard industrial engineering work
•Must be comfortable presenting to all levels of management
•In depth knowledge of Auto Body/Collision Repair requirements and possess the ability to manage projects and associated timing
•Knowledge of TeamCenter
•Exceptional communication, presentation and team building skills
•Strong problem solving, planning and analytical
•Proficiency in Warranty analysis systems (e.g. WIS, QTS and QNA warranty systems)
•Demonstrated ability of use of Engineering Digital tools (TEAM CENTER including building models, creating files, and importing tools
•Working knowledge of Corporate Desktop Software Applications, Powerpoint, Word, Excel
•Strong organizational skills
•Must be able to work with confidential information
•Must be able to conduct business in a professional manner
•Must be self-directed and possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills
•Field / Dealer experience a plus
•ASE Certification a plus
•Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally
•Must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule for travel between plants, suppliers and CTC
