Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer for our Chassis & Engine Systems department to manage sourcing for Shocks, Absorbers, Struts, and Air Suspension. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing all commercial terms and developing sourcing strategies for both domestic and global projects. Some functional responsibilities include identifying potential sources, managing quotations, negotiating and awarding of long-term contracts. The Senior Buyer will manage all aspects of the supplier relationship including contract maintenance while achieving annual cost savings targets and developing supplier/commodity strategies. The ideal candidate will strive to drive improvement to the purchasing organization's processes and strategies. The Senior Buyer will interface with cross functional teams in purchasing, brand, engineering and quality. This is a highly visible position with exposure to executive leadership and $400 million in spend annually.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Marketing, Economics, International Business, Accounting, Entrepreneurship or equivalent from an AACSB accredited program (Engineering or other technical degrees with business or program management background will be considered)
•A minimum of 7 years of Purchasing or relevant experience
•A self-starter who is highly motivated with a strong sense of Ownership
•Strong communication and customer focus
•Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt
•Advanced skills in MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Finance preferred
•Minimum of 3 years of Purchasing or Supply Chain or Engineering experience in automotive or related manufacturing field
•Strong Program Management Skills
