Department Summary
The Consumers Energy Well Services department provides many services that are essential for assuring the performance, integrity and optimal derivability of our gas storage wells. These services range from well performance evaluation, well remediation and rehabilitation, and various wire line operations.
Job description and responsibilities
The Gas Well Mechanic B (WL) will assist in performance of critical wireline operations to identify, evaluate, monitor, and mitigate gas well performance issues. The position requires experience and knowledge of safe execution of various wireline operations. The Well Service Mechanic B (WL) will be expected to assist in proper response to any and all down-hole situations, effectively mitigating challenges and accomplishing project objectives in a safe and predictable manner.
Key responsibilities include:
•Provide experienced assistance while gaining additional experience and proficiency in safe operation of wireline service
•Provide experienced assistance while gaining additional proficiency with various types of subsurface electronic data logging technologies and methods, including;
•Pressure & temperature
•Casing collar locator
•Spinner
•acoustic
•video
•provide assistance while gaining additional experience and proficiency in various types of wireline operations, including;
•Setting / retrieval of various blanking and bridge plugs
•Setting and retrieval of collar and tubing stops
•Scraping and cleaning of tubing / casing I.D.
•Clean out
•sample collection
•Paraffin cutting
•Total depth checks
•Experience and familiarity of various types of subsurface data acquisition deployment methods and components such as drop spool, semi-permanent, and permanent applications
•Proficiency with computers, associated software and data processing
Requirements/Qualifications:
The following skills are required:
•High School Diploma/GED
•1-2 years' experience in associated O&G industry (production/drilling)
•CDL
The following skills may set you apart:
•Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of study
•Experience with use or installation of real-time subsurface data acquisition / monitoring technologies
•1-2 years' experience performing/assisting technical slick line operations
•Technical knowledge of wireline operations / methods / tools / calculations
•Excel, Share Point, MS office Suite
•Written and oral communication skills
•IADC Well Cap well control certification or equivalent
Hours and Travel
The preferred candidate will meet travel requirements associated with the position. Depending on project location, travel may vary. Typically the work and travel are scheduled during the 5-day work week, enabling employees to return home for the weekend.
Candidate will based in either St. Clair or Overisel, MI
Position will be filled at the appropriate salary grade based upon the skills, knowledge, and experience of the selected candidate.
