DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a liaison between the business areas and the IT organization to provide technical solutions required for the achievement of business goals. Collect, analyze, develop, document, and communicate business requirement. Support several moderately complex business processes within one or more business functions.
* Conduct data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements. Provide direction for short and long-term planning sessions and provide direction to ensure understanding of business goals and direction. Provide input from a business and IT perspective.
* Assess client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and advice on options.
* Develop, write, and communicate business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of business solutions.
* Analyze customer’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities for improvements.
* Assist in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Provide factual content to feasibility study for standard development projects and enhancements and assistance in business case development (i.e., research, data collection), as needed. Develop user test cases and system integration testing and validate test results during testing. Review and approve test plans and monitor testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested with minimal risk, as needed.
* Investigate, resolve and escalate problems. Procure technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
* Keep customers informed of problems, issues, and status. Analyze performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction. Manage customers’ expectation.
* Coach and transfer knowledge to less experienced team members.

Job Description
The Business Analyst will be responsible for system testing and will develop / execute test plans in Excel to ensure the integrity of changes made to custom applications and reports by developers. To be successful in this role, a candidate will be able to build trusting relationships with business partners, understand their processes, translate wants to needs, and collaborate on consumption of results. Partners will range from peers to executives. Ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable working on different types of tasks simultaneously.
Analytical responsibilities include the compilation, interpretation, and presentation of trends/patterns in complex data sets from multiple sources using a variety of mediums. Efforts will primarily be spent consuming data from flat files, relational databases, and an OLAP Cube bound to Excel, as well as compiling disparate data sources yet to be centralized. Candidate will automate manual reports into re-usable Excel prototypes leveraging existing data connections, as well as collaboration with technical staff for long-term solutions. Statistical methods will be utilized to support proposal of useful business metrics / reports. Candidate will have the ability to operate within the constraints of an environment, leveraging available tools to achieve results, while simultaneously providing recommendations for new methods and tools.
