Job Description:
To ensure that BIW systems are developed following ME Controls and Robotics standards and specifications. Plans and implements improvements within BIW control systems to improve process capability, system uptime, and reliability. Interfaces with the group to ensure efficient operation of the BIW upper level systems. Provides technical support related to controls, networks, upper-level systems during the introduction of new models and for issue resolution during series production. Ensures proper controls and robotics operation and system-specific documentation delivery from line builders and systems integrators.
Job Requirements:
Good understanding of Network Design and PLC Logic Strategies
Strong understanding of plant floor diagnostics and Visualization strategies
Ability to establish a Strong interface with IT organization as a Manufacturing Engineering liaison.
Lead, coordinate and facilitate troubleshooting controls issues involving equipment safety, downtime (LCC, MTTR/MTBF) & throughput improvement (IE CT), facility, data, system integration interlocks, component failures using AM/PM EWO methodology.
Responsible for managing controls project documentation, hardware/software, WCM/WCT documentation (AM/PM/EEM Checklist/PFJ) including hand-off to production team.
Generate, prepare and present regular reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Engineering or another discipline with [equivalent] engineering experience.
Minimum 2+ years of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Launch experience with an emphasis on Controls Engineering, IT Applications and Plant Floor Operations.
Proven Experience on plant Floor Systems, Error Proofing, Production Monitoring and Control (SCADA), Andon and Throughput Systems.
Working experience on Plant Floor Systems AVI, FIS, PFS, PFCS, QAS, Kanban or equivalent solutions.
High proficiency of PLC Programing: Rockwell Logix, Siemens S7
High proficiency of HMI Development: Factory Talk View, WinCC
Problem solving skills specific to Information Technology, network management and system designs.
Understanding of Computer Programming Skills (SQL, HTML, JAVA, Visual Basic and iOS).
2 to 5 years of plant floor experience
Manufacturing automotive process engineering knowledge and good communication skills.
Strong and proficient understanding of Controls electrical design CAD software (ePlan /AutoCAD).
Ability to coordinate the installation of tools and equipment for assembly plants.
Knowledge of style tracking, RFID Technology related to plant floor automation.
Demonstrated team leadership and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, Outlook and SQL).
Preferred Qualifications:
Advance degree is preferred.
5+ years of plant floor experience on Plant Floor Systems AVI, FIS, PFS, PFCS, QAS, Kanban or equivalent solutions.
Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record
