BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
BS Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum of three years general engineering/accounting experience.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the Internal Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills, analytical skills
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to analyze time studies to set labor standards, mechanical ability that would allow the search for new and better equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to the manufacturing areas.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Coordinate between the sales, accounting and engineering disciplines to ensure all new and existing process costs and reporting functions integrate successfully
Ability to perform and present with confidence and facts to all levels of the corporation.

This Cost Estimator position will be located in our Plant 3, Whitehall Casting Operation. This position is responsible for developing labor and material standards to generate cost models for new and existing part cost estimates and analysis. Provide accounting support for shop floor data collection to ensure accurate reporting of labor and material consumption for budgeting, forecasting and production department cost tracking and development. This position will also be responsible for reviewing Bill of Material (BOM) changes,will be the business process owner for changes in the manufacturing processes, and will participate in manufacturing improvement projects as cost/processing support person.
Key responsibilities will include:
Identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor
Collaborate with Engineering
Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates
Recommend ways to cut costs
Work with sales teams to prepare estimates and bids for clients
Maintain records of estimated and actual costs
Important Qualities
Analytical skills. Cost estimators must review and evaluate different manufacturing methods to find cost-effective options.
Detail oriented. Cost estimators must be precise, because minor changes may greatly affect the overall expense of a project or product.
Math skills. Cost estimators need excellent math skills to calculate labor, material, and equipment estimates for products.
Time-management skills. Cost estimators must plan in advance and work efficiently to meet their deadlines.
Writing skills.
