Four-year undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is desired. 1-3 years' experience in the special machine industry as related to the automotive market with familiarity with modern computer hardware and control components is strongly preferred. Direct experience in managing medium to large scale projects and or managing project teams with a track record of bringing projects in on time and within a planned budget a plus. The Applications/Project Manager should have an understanding of basic accounting and cost estimating practices. Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering methods used in the manufacturing and design of special machines is desired. Must have the ability to communicate with customers, and employees regarding the technical aspects of the machines. Excellent writing skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Self Starter. Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
Primary skills and responsibilities: (Others may be assigned.)
- 75% of the workload will be involved in Applications Engineering duties along with 25% Project Management
- Work with outside sales engineers, and customers as needed to finalize RFQ specifications
- Develop concepts used in preparation of machine quotations
- Develop a plausible and comprehensible project implementation plan
- Prepare cost estimates
- Develop detailed technical proposals for fully integrated systems
- Assist in processing of new work orders
- Chair new order line up meetings
- Interface as needed between Project Management and Sales on active orders
- Monitor the mechanical/electrical designs for adherence to proposed Scope of Work
- Assist management in developing new procedures and processes for the AE/PM department
- Provide auxiliary customer support on an as needed basis
