The Finance Director will be an exceptional project finance leader with a background in business development and operating projects in the energy sector.
The Finance Director has overall control and responsibility to support the origination, development, due diligence, approval and implementation of private sector infrastructure financing in contributing to the growth strategy of CMS Energy and CMS Enterprises.
The incumbent must be experienced in coordinating corporate finance and managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions as appropriate.
Project Development and Processing:
•Drive all strategic planning, financial planning, business modeling, forecasting and management reporting activities for CMS Enterprises.
•Develop a close and transparent working relationship with Executive Manager of CMS Enterprises, CMS Energy Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Treasury and Investor Relations, Vice President of CNTLR/CAO, VP of Tax, and Executive Director of Financial Planning to ensure alignment in all projects and new business developments.
•Lead in the origination of private sector infrastructure project financing.
•Undertake and manage the due diligence, financial modeling, risk analysis, and mitigation in the structuring of loans, equity investments, or other financial products for potential projects.
•Facilitate active relationships with commercial lenders and other financial partners, investor's, developers, and government, both local and national.
•Assess and structure transactions to maximize the potential for third party financing.
•Undertake the administration of private sector infrastructure programs and projects ensuring compliance with required guidelines, policies and procedures as well as covenants and reporting requirements for financial effectiveness.
•Work with external legal counsel to ensure all project finance documents contain the necessary language pertaining to debt covenance.
•Establish a high level of credibly and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers, partners, and advisors.
•Contribute fully to the development of CMS Enterprises Strategy across all areas of the business.
•Allot funds for capital projects and work in partnership with the management team to ensure projects remain on track financially.
•Form a close working relationship with the senior staff members of CMS Enterprises.
•Lead the overall control of the company's accounting functions.
•Oversee accounting and corporate overhead charges.
•Supports corporate planning with continuous review of operational effectiveness and capacity utilization.
•Oversee financial modelling efforts required for business development analysis, financial planning, budgeting, and operations.
•Partner and collaborate with senior management in formulating strategies and plans to grow CMS Enterprises.
•Confirm that corporate budgeting processes and forecasting processes are properly carried out and reviewed.
•Assume responsibility for the company cash management policies.
•Present financial statements Management.
•Certify that regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
•Performs economic research and studies of rates of return, depreciation and investments
•Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business
•Researches economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning
•Creates financial models of "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new product development, new marketing strategies, etc.
Supervision Responsibilities:
•Provide leadership, guidance and support to reporting staff.
•Assist in the development and ongoing learning of reporting staff.
Requirements:
•A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting combined with specialized financial project management experience in similar organizations may be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree.
