Job Description
The Clinical Behavior Technician (CBT) implements specific curricula designed to work toward each child s individual treatment plan goals; monitors individual and group programs and provides day-to-day patient supervision through the principles of applied behavioral analysis. The CBT is responsible for the patient s daily safety, schedule, and progress as well as their own professional growth.
ROLES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Acquire baseline data and implement approved program using behavioral technology appropriately, neutrally and consistently.
2. Baseline, track and record child s progress as indicated during therapeutic management by maintaining daily records including daily collection of data and behavior management data as well as graphs on all teaching and behavior programs.
3. Assess, develop and implement on-going novel and age appropriate reinforcement for patients.
4. Apply reinforcement appropriately and specifically throughout the day for patients in the program.
5. Participate equally with other CBTs in supervising patients in all activities, both in and out of the center.
6. Create and edit therapy reports in timely manner according to department deadlines.
7. Assist in creating and implementing individual treatment plans for each patient and attend conferences as needed/requested by supervisor.
8. Develop and implement individualized schedules for each patient.
9. Identify, analyze and troubleshoot individual patient s program including curricula, behavior and environmental considerations.
10. Maintain professional communication with families through authorized daily notes.
11. Attend two home visits per year as scheduled by supervisor.
12. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient environments daily.
13. When patients are not present, responsible for following supervisory instructions and taking initiative to determine program needs that will enhance patient performance (creating new materials, schedules and reading pertinent research regarding applied behavior analysis, etc.)
14. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
B. PROCESS IMPROVER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Actively supports and participates in process improvement efforts and in team functions/decisions.
2. Identifies high impact customer service improvement opportunities and establishes system-wide priorities and targets. Communicates system-wide progress toward targets and provides early warning of problem areas.
3. Consults with department directors and process owners, physicians, and other Service Providers regarding service improvement opportunities. Assists in the design and implementation of customer service initiatives and improvement plans for departments based on quantified satisfaction levels.
4. Serves as a resource for departments for skill building in the areas of customer service, service recovery, problem solving and continuous improvement of customer service, use of customer service data and integration between customer service and other strategic measures, and the development of Service Provider competencies that impact patient/customer service.

1. Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of and advocacy for ProMedica s Mission and Values.
2. Demonstrates knowledge and respects patient, service provider, and organizational confidentiality procedures and protocols.

1. Maintains and improves personal and professional learning and development through literature, seminars, workshops and affiliations.
2. Seeks and accepts education to learn new skills/competencies and maintain current competencies through educational programs, in-services, and meetings. Job Requirements
EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATES & EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma required. Post-secondary training preferred.
2. Previous experience working with children required. Experience working with individuals with autism preferred.
3. Ability to be self -motivated, work independently, exhibit enthusiasm and demonstrate patience with the patients.
