The Stamping Equipment Engineer is responsible for coordinating and providing engineering support during planning, specification, design, installation and launch of pressroom stamping manufacturing equipment ensuring all equipment purchased is compliant to FCA US LLC's, state and federal standards and regulations. The Engineer in this position will write specifications, requests quotes, prepare budgets and manage contractors and/or project teams. Additional responsibilities of the Engineer include reviewing and approving engineering design drawings of purchased manufacturing equipment as well as the equipment run-off, startup, debugging, qualification support and troubleshooting of that equipment. The ideal candidate is capable of tracking equipment build, timing and cost along with resolving equipment issues from the equipment design phase through the startup. The Engineer will also facilitate the equipment documentation, software and final deliverables including the transition to FCA US LLC stamping plants. The Stamping Equipment Engineer is responsible of maintaining equipment engineering standards and design specifications leading to standardization objectives. This position supports and implements World Class Technology (WCT) and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) requirements as outlined by Stamping Technology and Stamping Equipment Engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
•High School Graduate with 6+ years' experience in pressroom stamping equipment engineering, pressroom stamping maintenance OR
•High School Graduate with 10+ years of experience in a related manufacturing field (purchase cycle of manufacturing equipment from specifications, manufacturing, installation and launch)
•Knowledge of fluid power and electrical schematic design, controls engineering, PLC programming and network management
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to communicate with all levels of management
•Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Journeyman status
•2+ years of experience in fluid power, electrical schematic design and controls engineering (PLC and Motion)
•Robotics, stamping press and automation equipment experience
•Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
•Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio and Microsoft Office
•Project management experience
•Available to work flexible shift and overtime to support production
