The Electrical Electronic System Cost and Innovation Engineer is responsible for all costs associated with automotive electrical/electronic control components and modules. The Engineer will provide technical cost analysis for various automotive electrical/electronic components and modules, and establish variable (piece) cost targets using directional, historical, and bottoms up cost models. The component cost responsibility is maintained throughout the program life. The Engineer is also responsible for the teardown of mechanical and electronic control modules and components to create BOMs. The Engineer will determine material cost for electrical/electronic components and modules including PCB, circuit components, manufacturing costs, tooling costs, etc. The candidate will collaborate on all costs with suppliers and FCA Purchasing Department for electronic modules and components, travel may be required to review suppliers manufacturing plant layout and processes in support of supplier manufacturing process mapping and the creation of "should" cost models.
Basic Qualifications:
•A minimum of 5 years of automotive electrical/electronic components and modules experience
•A minimum of 5 years of experience in costing PCB, circuit components, and displays
•A minimum of 3 years of experience with activity based costing and/or quoting
•A minimum of 3 years of experience with creating and maintaining electronic component databases
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience developing "should cost" models for electrical electronic components including clusters, control modules, electrical/electronic switches
•Experience with developing "should cost" models for automotive component manufacturing/assembly processes and tooling
•Strong negotiation skills
•Solid leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
