Position: Business Teacher (GQ endorsement)

Requirements:
- Must be “highly qualified” under the No Child Left Behind Act
- Valid Michigan teaching certification with appropriate endorsement
- Ability to relate to students, parents, peers and partners
- Vocational Certification (VB, VM) highly desirable
- Certification in other areas highly desirable
- Proven classroom management and organizational skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach district approved curriculum, and provide evidence of student mastery of instructional content
- Provide leadership and innovation in maintenance of current vocational programs, as well as in the expansion of additional vocational programs
- Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Establish and maintain standard of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
- Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports
- Identify pupil needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans
- Available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
- Create an environment for learning through interactive and attractive displays, centers and exhibits of student’s work.
- Record student attendance daily
