The Pharmacy Intern works under supervision and personal charge of a licensed pharmacist or dispensing prescriber, and in accordance with standard departmental procedures, the licensed Pharmacy Intern will perform the activities or functions that he or she is licensed or otherwise authorized to perform including assisting in the dispensing, safe medication storage, answering patient questions and distribution of drugs and devices. This is an on-call, non-exempt, non-benefit eligible position. Typically working Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8am-5pm, and Saturdays 9am-12pm.

Requirements:
- Current enrollment in accredited college of pharmacy program
- Licensed as pharmacist intern in the State of Michigan
- Immunization certified
- Prior pharmacy experience preferred
- Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Certificate preferred
- Basic Life Support/CPR training according to requirements of license and/or certification.
Responsibilities:
- Perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist or dispensing prescriber. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies as outlined in the department operations manual.
- Support the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager by guiding and leading daily pharmacy operations at HOTC Pharmacy, Westside, Wyoming and Montcalm and any other service sites in the future
- Assisting with the direction and monitoring of pharmacy personnel and performance as directed
- Preparing, compounding, dispensing, and selling prescriptions and pharmacy-related products
- Consulting with physicians and nurses regarding pharmaceutical questions
- Providing patient/clients with counseling and education
- Administering immunizations
- Pharmacy Intern will help support and expand clinical MTM services including Outcomes MTM, Medicaid MTM and other Pharmacist billing
- Identifying and/or initiating MTM cases for eligible patients
- Supports the pharmacist for completion of Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) through pre-workup, scheduling, visit preparation, billing, budgeting, reporting
- The Pharmacy Intern also supports other pharmacy technicians by filling in when needed, providing hands-on training, and coordinating schedules
