Application Manager, Plant Floor Systems - Global Stamping and Vehicle - 28040BR
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Overview/Description:
The Application Manager Ensures Optimal use of ITSM processes & tools - including incident management, problem management, event management and change management. Also responsible for the monitoring & health of applications, and managing to agreed service levels or Critical Success Factors/Key Performance Indicators (CSF/KPI) including supplier contracts. Finally, the Application manager collaborates with Application Development (AD) team to prioritize problem resolution and management to ensure ongoing operational stability and improvement.
* Production / business-support leadership for IT-owned plant floor applications running global Stamping and Vehicle Operations (Body, Paint, Trim-Chassis-Final) plants
* Engage with Application Development - In Plant Implementation and new model launch teams to ensure new launches are delivered with quality & do not adversely impact stability of production environment
* Responsible for operational communication to the business partners and senior IT leaders
* Accountable for daily issue resolution and incident triage.
* Ensures that appropriate security and controls are instituted and followed (e.g. SCRP, audit follow-up, operationally identified comment management etc.).
* Forecasts and manages the revenue / cost for the applications (resource, infrastructure and cost for the supporting functions).
* Global Application Management responsibility for IT-supported Vehicle Operations & Stamping applications
Responsibilities:
Application Management :
* Provides strategic direction to Plant Floor Systems application management team(s) including: incident, problem, change, release, capacity configuration, demand and consumption processes, health of the portfolio, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing.
* Provides executive management report-outs on service level management, Critical Success Factors (CSF)/Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Business Plan Review (BPR), and business facing metrics for Manufacturing application portfolio.
* Is responsible for Security Management (e.g. approves System Control Review Process (SCRP), attends audit kick-off and closure meetings as appropriate
* Responsible for adherence to Ford processes (e.g. sign-offs at gate reviews, solutions development methodology, application transition checklist, reviewing ITIL process metrics).
* Aligns operational growth with business demand by partnering with IT teams and the business (e.g. business and budget planning, consumption planning, business-managed applications and large project transitions to application management).
* Manage supplier engagement w.r.t support of activities of COTs applications
* Ensures application portfolio meets financial commitments.
* Proactively utilizes Global Technology and Application Management (GTAM) metrics dashboard to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Domain-Specific (Manufacturing) Leadership :
* Collaborate actively with Plant IT globally to co-ordinate support process integration
* Maintain scorecard for core business facing metrics - including unit loss and production hours impacted
* Drive analysis of root causes, identification of systemic issues and prevent actions for failure mode avoidance using problem solving techniques and tools
* Provide follow-the-sun support model utilizing global footprint, shift work, on-call support and utilization of selective purchase service
Other Position Responsibilities:
* Consumption management leadership for Manufacturing domain
* Budget / Headcount planning responsibility for GTAM / Manufacturing team in North America
* Provides leadership for Global Technology and Applications Management SWOT team, Shift Left L3 governance member for Application Management and Application Management Resource Allocation Process
* Lead writer role for CDF/Application Management Job Family
* Supports performance management of global direct report LL6’s
* Other cross-functional leadership responsibilities as prioritized by the organizational leadership (ITO/GTAM)
* Ability for occasional work for several hours on a weekend (usually Sunday mornings)
