DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Description:
The Powertrain Controls Feature Software Engineer position involves the design, implementation and validation of powertrain software controlling vehicle starting and electrical accessories in gas, diesel and hybrid applications.
The candidate will interface with Design & Release, OBD, and planning organizations to implement control software. The candidate will apply software modeling methods to enable Unit testing and software generation. The candidate will interface simulation and modeling process teams to facilitate continuous improvement of the validation methods and processes.
Responsibilities:
* Working with a cross-function team, develop and capture requirements for powertrain starting and accessory control system sensors and actuators. Translate requirements into control system designs to achieve program targets
* Design and validate control algorithms (Model Based Design and C-code) to meet functional, regulatory, safety requirements, and functional safety requirements (ISO 26262)
* Develop & apply powertrain control system validation test methods, tools, and processes to ensure system functionality and robustness
* Troubleshoot vehicle / powertrain system functional and diagnostic issues; determine / validate corrective actions and preventive measures
