JOB SUMMARY: Operate and Set-Up CNC machining centers. Operate manual mills, lathes, saws, grinders, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize and comply with the Quality Management SystemEffectively use verbal and written communication to perform machining functionsFollow safe work practices utilizing the proper safety PPEUtilize proper housekeeping procedures to keep work areas clean and organizedUtilize manuals and written information to operate machinery and equipmentAbility and willingness to learn procedures, machining techniques, work flow and machinery operationsTypical work tasks include: router operation, CNC machine tool operation maintenance, machinery safeguards, lockout/tagout procedures, inspection, blue print reading, construction experience, machine assembly, material storage, inventory control, and documentationInspect and measure tools, fixtures and machined details with precision measuring instrumentsConcept and construct fixtures and tooling to machine materialsPerform job functions in a cost-effective manner KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: High school diploma or equivalentOkuma Lathe with Live tooling and sub spindles required.Mechanical aptitude required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years' Experience set-up and running CNC Machines PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently with little supervision.Must have own hand tools and measuring instruments.Computer Skills Computer operating skills are essential.Software Packages SurfCAM and knowledge of associated CAD files (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) beneficial. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 20 to 40 poundsAbility to be on your feet most of the day RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Machine Shop Team Leader WORK ENVIRONMENT: The machine shop is air conditioned, typically comfortable can be noisy and dusty at times Ability to work a 1st shift position (6:00 am- 4:30 pm) Monday- Thursday with occasional overtime on Friday or Saturday depending machine shop requirements.
