ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Content Assembler role is responsible for converting documentation from content subject experts into effective training materials that support employee training programs. Technology and software authoring tools are used to assemble training materials in accordance with quality standards and project timelines. This role will coordinate content transition projects to build new or modify existing training materials that will meet global client deliverables.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
- Receive client requests to build new or modify existing training materials.
- Adhere to training assembly and development standards using company styles, standards, and development tools.
- Able to use multimedia technology and course authoring tools to complete project deliverables.
- Can independently manage projects with flexibility to develop multiple types and levels of training materials.
- Ensure all training deliverables are consistent, easy to understand, and well organized.
- Proofread and edit own work and work of team members to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of training deliverables.
- Work with team members to ensure timely issues are identified and resolved.
- Provide back up support for other team members.
- Work with LMS team to test and link materials.
ACTIVITIES
- Build training materials for web-based and instructor led courses, job aids, simulations, hands-on exercises, scenarios, evaluations, and assessments ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
- Learn training development technology and course authoring tools at expert proficiency level to teach/coach others (Lectora, Camtasia, UPerform, Dream Weaver, MyLearning LMS etc).
- Understand and apply content management processes, tools, and operating discipline to training material assembly.
- Coordinate the transition of content while managing deliverable timelines, multi-tasking, and prioritizing correctly.
- Participate in overall project planning and management of content assembly.
- Understand concepts, techniques and best practices for standard Dow Workstation tools that provide the basis for e-learning content delivery.
- Interpret and troubleshoot issues with the e-learning modules.
- Participate in the Communities of Practice, share knowledge of content management practices among the Content Assembly team.
- Understand the technical requirements of publishing to SCORM compliant elearning materials and linking to Dow’s MyLearning system.
- Apply technology enhancements or load special data sets as directed by the global learning technology & administration leader.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two year Technical degree (similar to web designer with working knowledge of photo shop, flash) or 2 – 3 years equivalent work experience
- 2 – 3 years equivalent work experience preferred
- Project coordination knowledge
- Worked in technology (computer) based position
- Microsoft products and graphic software knowledge
- Strong written and verbal English skill is required
- eLearning course development tools software knowledge a plus (Lectora, Camtasia, UPerform, Dream Weaver, MyLearning LMS etc)
- Knowledge of SCORM compliant builds of eLearning modules a plus
- Knowledge of instructional design and Bloom’s Taxonomy (or similar methodology) a plus
