JOB SUMMARY:
Assemble mechanical and electrical components to make products used with scanning equipment. Successfully interact with other manufacturing departments; engineering, sales, human resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilizes and complies with the Quality Management SystemUtilize good communication skills; Both legible written and oral skillsEnsure materials are utilized correctly to minimize wasteLearn correct procedures for accurate, timely workflow such as: housekeeping, safety, drills, hammers, vise, product assembly, inspection, simple equipment maintenance, documentation, paperwork (i.e. prints, work orders...)Utilize proper housekeeping procedures; keep department clean and organized at all timesFollow safe work practices (safety glasses, proper tools, work area, crane, etc.)Learn procedures, work flow and machinery operationsAccurately use measuring tools like vernier calipers, micrometer and tape measureAbility to read and interpret prints both mechanical assembly and electrical terminal connections
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: High school degree or equivalentPrior manufacturing/assembly experience beneficial
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Mechanical aptitudeProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Auto Cad, Visual Manufacturing experience desirable. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fixtures & tooling. Electrical controls background a plus. Familiarity with quality engineering requirements and practices is beneficial.Understanding of engineering standards and procedures, familiarity with ISO 13485 preferred.Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to EMD Leader
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is fairly low and is representative of the light industrial manufacturing environment.Ability to work Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Friday and Saturdays as required
