James Gath Trucking, located in Standish MI, is looking to fill full-time regional driving positions. We run late model international tractors with 48’ aluminum flatbed trailers across MI, IN, OH, and IL. We have both 10 and 13 speed trucks which come equipped with tarps, straps, chains, and binders for your hauling needs. Starting pay is 25% per load, with a bring home of $700-1500 a week. Drive approximately 1,000-3,000 miles per week with weekends off. This is a Monday-Friday position with weekends off, and we make direct deposits every Friday.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Safely and legally operate a commercial motor vehicle for the purpose of transporting freight
- Safe and timely transportation of freight from pickup location to destination
- Tie down, tarp, and properly secure load for safe transportation from location to destination when required
- Pre and post trip inspection of truck and trailer for mechanical or safety issues. May have to preform preventative maintenance tasks
- Planning route and meeting scheduled delivery times
- Professional representation of the company in appearance, attitude, and driving
- Timely and courteous communication with dispatch
- Comply will all DOT rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
- Oversee all aspects of vehicle systems and equipment, loading and unloading, safety and security of cargo
- Report all defects, accidents, or violations involving driver and/or company equipment
- Maintain electronic logs stating accurate hours of service recording as required by the DOT
Qualifications and skills
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Must have one-year commercial driving experience (flatbed, tractor trailer preferred)
- Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the DOT
- Must pass pre-employment drug-screening
- Must possess a valid CDL Class A interstate license
- Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driver, hours of service, inspections, and maintenance
- Must be able to be away from home for extended periods of time
- Must be able to complete a road test with qualified personnel
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and procedures
- Ability to lift, shift, and push weight up to 75 pounds
- Possess basic math skills
- Ability to think clearly and remain calm in all types of traffic or weather conditions
