The Sr Cost Accountant isresponsible for maintaining the standard cost system and providing reportingand analysis regarding operations and inventory transactions and supportingour Fenton MI location Duties and responsibilities include:
•Maintain standardcost system used for inventory valuation and providing a basis for manufacturingvariance measurements.
•Responsible forleading the calculation and development of the components of the standardcost, and annual adjusting and rolling of standards, and understanding theimplications of the update.
•Review standardand actual costs for inaccuracies.
•Develop and managepolicies and standard work for all costing functions, inventory andproduction reporting, which can be used for all sites and used as a guideduring mergers and acquisitions.
•Assist in themonthly closing and the generation of various monthly, quarterly andannual financial and operations reports related to inventory, cost ofgoods sold, and variance reporting.
•Assist plantpersonnel in understanding results through reviews and trend analysisconducted in an interactive, timely, and ongoing manner.
•Develop andgenerate useful tools for the operations area for variance analysis andother reporting needs.
•Assist with thecoordination of physical inventories and reports for externalauditors.
•Support and assistin reporting requirements such as audit requests and schedules, taxschedules, and other types of requirements.
•Analyze monthlycost & manufacturing variances by plant, including MUV, PPV,revaluation, inventory, conversion cost absorption, and freight.
•Work with thematerials review teams to identify, reserve for, and dispose of obsoleteinventory.
•Assist with datacollection needed for margin analysis and costing exercises.
•Monitor inventoryadjustments and reporting.
•Collaborate withother site locations to standardize costing methods and reporting.
•Assist with theannual budgeting process and forecasting as needed.
•Gain andunderstanding and knowledge of the business in an effort to actively takepart in TIDI Product's commitment to continuous improvement in all areasof operation.
•Work on specialprojects as needed.Qualified Candidates should have/be able to: * Bachelor's Degree inAccounting or Finance and 5 - 10 years of cost accounting experience in amanufacturing environment
•Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities
•Ability to plan and manage multiple projects
•Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
•Must demonstrate effective problem analysis and communication skills
•Must be familiar with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
