The Gasoline OBD Calibration Manager is responsible for leading a group of engineers to develop/release the powertrain calibration with a focus on detection of OBD-II and service relevant fault conditions for state of the art gasoline engine applications. The Calibration Manager's role is to ensure that the work is managed through direct reports to achieve all specified Chrysler group OBD-II requirements, plan resources/timelines, monitor the work of engineers performing calibration activities for gasoline applications, and ensure that the products meet specified functional objectives at check points of the development cycle. Additionally, the position requires reporting progress to goals, issues/risks to senior level management, providing employee performance feedback at yearly reviews, and ensuring consistent/high level of quality work products for all packages through process oriented approach to in vehicle calibration development. Work typically includes 2 - 10 weeks of travel throughout the year for system validation, and overnight drives to verify calibration work.
Basic Qualifications:
•BSME, BSEE, or equivalent from an ABET Accredited University
•Minimum of 8 years accumulated experience in engine systems, calibration, powertrain systems or related engineering positions
•2 or more years of prior experience leading a group of engineers to complete complex technical tasks
•Thorough understanding of Engine System Fundamentals
•Proven leadership skills
•Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
•Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
•Understanding and experience in meeting OBD-II requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
•MSME, MSEE, MS Chemical Engineering or Masters of Science from an ABET Accredited University
•Experience with Matlab / Simulink
•Hardware In the Loop Development/Verification
•Database Management of Production Calibrations
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
