DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking an Application Developer III in Detroit, MI.
Job Duties: Identify software development best practices with the architects to ensure their compliance with application guidelines. Assist and review technical design specifications developed by junior levels. Code applications or enterprise-wide software systems using a disciplined development process. Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework. Create data extracts and reports from system based on requirements. Develop, execute, and document unit test plans. Support and/or execute all testing efforts across the life cycle. Adhere to standards and procedures. Review modules for quality assurance. Check for compliance with all standards, policies and procedures. Make modules production-ready by moving them to libraries, completing forms and version control documents, following procedures, etc. Validate deployment. Provide ongoing maintenance of applications. Assist in production support. Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develops solutions. Evaluate existing applications and platform and provide recommendations for improving application performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications. Participate on teams that outline the process and scope out the improvements that can be realized through the application solution. Document functions and changes to new or modified modules, test activities/results and other areas such as error handling and backup/recovery procedures. Assist in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems. Evaluate new application packages and tools and performs research on best practices. Provide recommendations for the solutions. Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members. Provide technical guidance or system process expertise.
