The Engineering CAD Designer works within the Engineering, Product Development and Custom groups to provide design assistance, 2D and 3D component and assembly drawings, 3D solid models for rendering and prototyping and overall coordination of drawing details and standards. The Engineering CAD Designer provides support for new and existing products and associated documentation (Detail Manual, Installation Instructions, etc.). They will also provide technical support to operations and manufacturing team members. Responsibilities
•Read, learn, and apply the Tubelite CAD Standard document to all drawings. Review and revise as necessary and communicate to other users
•Assist in the creation of 3D solid models of Architectural Aluminium framing systems and associated products including storefront, curtainwall, entrance doors and windows
•Validate all fit, form, and function in accordance with established standards, clearances and templates
•Verify that components and assemblies are documented with appropriate drawings and that the drawings correspond to ERP Item Master and Bill of Materials
•Create and maintain technical reference guides for manufacturing and internal Engineering
•Update CAD details, BOM, installation instructions, details and revision changes to systems
•Create and maintain purchase part details, die drawings and tool fabrication prints
•Create, manage and support programs for CNC machines
•Provide support for engineering, marketing, manufacturing and database. Requirements
•Certification or Associate of Arts Degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, Applied Technology, or related field
•2 years 3D solid modelling
•2 years CAD experience
•Ability to read blue prints
•Understanding of basic construction details
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent math skills
•Strong attention to detail
•Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel Preferred
•AutoDesk Inventor experience - Architectural experienceEEO Employer
