Are you an Automotive Technician / Mechanic looking for a dynamic company to join? Roush has an immediate, day shift opening for an enthusiastic Automotive Technician / Mechanic. This position provides an opportunity for a motivated top line technician to leave the world of repetitive flat-rate repairs to get involved in the field of engineering evaluation and testing of new and prototype vehicles. This position is located in Spartanburg, SC.
Responsibilities
- Work onsite at customers manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, SC
- Utilize customer diagnostic tool to perform software scans and calibration updates
- Assist engineering team in Root Cause Analysis on production vehicles in four potential vehicle areas: Powertrain, Drive Dynamics, Driver Assistance, and E/E System Integration
- Diagnosis and rework/repair of (at least) the following automotive systems:
- Advanced fuel control, delivery, engine management, and ignition systems
- Electronic (ABS) and hydraulic brake system service, repairs, and replacement
- Body electrical, electronics, and passive restraints
- Steering, suspension (including NVH), and alignment
- Air conditioning and automatic temperature control systems
- Provide technical support to investigate, disassemble, reassemble, reconfigure, test, and confirm vehicle errors
- Confirm solutions for engineering team
- Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities
- Maintain an organized and neat bay
- Document information in customer’s systems
Qualifications
- Automotive technicians / mechanics must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ automotive mechanic experience
- All tools will be supplied
- Must have valid driver’s license with safe driving record
- Must be able to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Have good organizational skills and able to meet strict deadlines
- Automotive technicians / mechanics must be a self-starter & self-motivated
- Have the ability to work in a team atmosphere & learn new tasks
- Have excellent communication & time management skills
- Automotive technicians / mechanics must have reliable attendance and able to work overtime/weekends
- Must have excellent attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- ASE/State certifications
- Fleet experience
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)
- BMW certified technician
- Previous automotive plant and/or automotive quality experience
