The YDIP Supervisor/Therapist provides mental health services for children exhibiting delinquent behavior up to twelve years of age, who have been referred by the 17th Circuit Court Family Division. This position is a dual role, functioning as both the supervisor for the YDIP team (mentors), as well as a therapist for the identified client and their family. This responsibility includes providing comprehensive clinical and supportive services in family homes and community to the parents and identified client who is placed in the parent’s home or are in foster care, to help enable them to resolve problems which led to the delinquency and/or neglect. The YDIP Supervisor/Therapist reports directly to the FPS Clinical Program Manager.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy or a related subject area. Licensed to practice mental health therapy in the state of Michigan. If limited licensed, must be completing steps towards full license. At least 1 year of experience in the child welfare system, Juvenile Court system, and family crisis intervention would be highly preferred. Experience conducting therapy in a home-based setting. Knowledge of child development research and its application in treatment. Experience or training in work with children and adults; training and/or practice in individual and family counseling, family assessment and crisis intervention. Valid driver’s license, adequate insurance with a car available at all times. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) including Outlook (email and calendars).
