Roush is looking for a Quality Manager to join our team! Due to our steady growth, we have an immediate opening for a Quality Manager that will be accountable for all operational Quality related functions including site/ program customer specific requirements. An experienced Quality Manager or Sr. Quality Engineer/ Supervisor looking for advancement opportunity, will lead and champion process improvement initiatives and corrective actions for a variety of products and services. Our new Quality Manager will motivate and evaluate staff, manage projects and related human resources in support of new product launch and ongoing production. This position will also develop measurement systems that allow for the determination and evaluation of risk, organizational performance, and as a result employs tools and techniques to resolve associated challenges. This position is located at our Livonia, MI facility.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain monthly reporting quality metrics (QOS Scorecard) for assigned operating group.
- Implement and maintain quality processes in support of ISO9001, with hands on support of daily operational quality function.
- Ensure that the Quality roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, documented, disseminated and understood by all level of employees.
- Participate in the Product Development Process assuring customer quality deliverables are understood and communicated from quotation to successful product realization.
- Coordinate quality staff in support of customer deliverables and business unit operational quality objectives.
- Drive continual quality improvement initiatives internally and with suppliers, including resolution of process/ product non-conformances
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.). An associate’s degree will be considered in conjunction with appropriate job experience.
- Minimum 3 years of management related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands on quality management experience with focus on operational quality in a fabrication & manufacturing process environment (laser cut, forming, bending, welding, machining, assembly).
- Experience in APQP process; support of P/DFMEA, development of Process Control Plans, application of SPC, use of MSA techniques with gages and fixtures, PPAP package creation and submission.
- Have a working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection techniques (CMM, Romer Arm, Laser Tracker, hand tools, etc.).
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and through written reports/ presentations.
- Hands-on ability to lead team members to an objective quality process in support of ISO 9001 & customer requirements, including deploying supporting documents, and required resources.
- Capable of analyzing operational situations, determining and evaluating risk, and employing management tools and problem solving techniques (8D, 3 Legged 5-why) in resolving organizational challenges.
- Ability to interact professionally on a technical level (both written and verbal) with all company functional groups, suppliers, and customers.
- Must be proficient with MS Office suite, with emphasis on reports, graphs and presentations.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with dimensional inspection and metrology using CMM, Romer Arm, and Laser Tracker.
