Job Description:
Dematic Corp has a need in our corporate office located in Grand Rapids, MI for a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer 3 in our Manufacturing group.
Responsibilities:
The engineer will be responsible for learning and understanding specific product lines from a manufacturing standpoint and then supporting those lines in other production facilities.
* Experience with mechanical/electrical equipment assembly.
* Performs complex inspections and investigations by gathering data related to proper utilization of company labor, equipment, materials and facilities.
* Performs complex planning of equipment layout, workflow, and accidental prevention measures to maintain optimum and safe utilization of plant resources.
* Completes the determination of the most economic methods, operation sequence and tooling for the fabrication of parts and finishing/assembly of components for complex processes.
* Completes designs and develops complex schematic, processes and equipment.
* Completes complex manufacturing engineer duties, may include plan layout, scrap reduction and quality assurance functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems.
Job Family Responsibilities:
* Supports the semi-complex planning of detailed product development objectives.
* Participates in the preparation of semi-complex sketches, design layouts, and other specifications.
* Provides support in semi-complex review of results to determine that products perform in the intended manner.
* Participates in preparing semi-complex prototypes for testing and provides technical assistance on design feasibility.
* Assists in standardizing semi-complex materials, components and assemblies.
* Participates in maintaining detailed and comprehensive records of all inventive ideas, designs, and basic improvements.
* Provides support in documenting product issues for future reference and problem resolution.

May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff.
