The Pipefitter will perform the following duties:
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for water, lubricating, and industrial production and processing systems by performing the following duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Layout of required water, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment.
Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports according to specifications.
Builds jobs to customer specifications and all safety regulations.
Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers.
Tryout and debug of water, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Cuts, threads, and bends pipe.
Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
Connects pipes, using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
Secured pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
Installs and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment such as pumps and cylinders.
Welds pipe supports to structural steel members.
Provides design inputs and documents changes to design as constructed.
