SUMMARY:
The Construction Project Director will be responsible for the management of new and existing food and beverage construction projects. The successful candidate will provide guidance and direction to the project team comprised of Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators. The Project Director reports to a Group Vice President or the President. This is a full time FLSA exempt position requiring at least 40 work hours per week with the ability to work more if required. Travel up to 50% may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Upholds food safety standards when working in food and beverage production areas.
- Oversees management direction of existing projects and helps develop new opportunities.
- Leads the Project Team and is responsible for project collaboration between the construction manager, design team and the client.
- Operates closely with Business Development during work acquisition.
- Provides leadership with Pre-Construction Services, construction phases, and post construction project phases.
- Provides guidance through recommended design improvements, construction techniques, and schedules, while seeking construction economies.
- Monitors cost and progress information and ensures the owner’s best interests are served.
- Perpetuates continuity and process efficiencies to the projects, and is involved for the duration of the pre-construction activities through project closeout.
- Maintains current knowledge of food trends and advancements to keep clients in the forefront of the food industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering,Civil Engineering or a related construction degree.
- 10 years of experience in a leadership role in the construction industry required.
- Candidate must understand GMP/Sanitary design/ HACCP requirements.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project.
- High level of construction knowledge required.
- Some travel required.
- Experience in a food grade facility is preferred.
