Roush is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer who is ready to take ownership of new programs / projects from pre-production into launch phase. The ideal Supplier Quality Engineer candidate will possess a strong operational quality background, coupled with process experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably dealing with complex assemblies. We need a Quality Engineer with exceptional team skills, as you will partner with all cross-functional disciplines as well as suppliers. Reports to Quality Engineering Supervisor/Manager. Position is based in Livonia, Michigan with some travel requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Technical discipline
- Minimum 3 years of related quality and process experience in a production manufacturing environment (i.e. OEM automotive, transportation or commercial products)
- Experience in APQP process (P/DFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Flow Diagrams, Problem Solving techniques, Work Instructions, GR&R & MSA) and preparation of PPAP documentation including submission to customer
- Working knowledge of Quality Management System ISO 9001
- Working knowledge of Incoming (IQC) In-process (IPQC) and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) /inspection.
- Supplier risk assessment, development/ continuous improvement, Supplier Launch Plan and PPAP process development
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal due to direct interaction with customers and suppliers
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to interact professionally on a technical level with all company functional groups, suppliers, and customers
- Must be a US citizen or US permanent resident
- Must have a can-do attitude and the drive to succeed
- Must be self-disciplined and team oriented
- Must be able to travel approximately (10-30%)
Preferred skills:
- Experience with vehicle exterior/body/ electro- mechanical components and sub-assemblies, with the OEM/Military Vehicle Industry
- Experience with various manufacturing processes such as casting, stamping, molding, welding, painting, etc.
