Specific Responsibilities:
· Produce process information which supports an efficient cost effective prototype service. · To liaise with the customer, Production Engineers, shop floor operators and supervision to deliver a fast response, prototype and 1-off machining service. · Support the “in-house” machining of components in line with departmental strategy. · Work closely with shop floor personnel. · To be familiar with all systems, procedures and functions of the job. · Help train other team members to carry out tasks in the most suitable manner and offer a level of guidance and technical support. · Work within departmental / company procedures. · When necessary set and operate various machines in a safe manner with regard to themselves and others, complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act. - In addition to the above, fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives.

Skills, Experience and Character
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:
The successful candidate will have:
- Sound engineering background with at least 3 years’ practical experience.
- Strong skills in manufacturing systems
- Drive continuous improvement the within the manufacturing operations
- Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of:
- Scientific Problem Solving Skills
- Work-holding methods.
- Tool selection criteria.
- Cutting tool parameters.
- Manual machining techniques.
- To be competent with CAD, CAM and Vericut.
- CNC programming capability (to include probing routines, macro’s etc.)
- Setting and operating a range of CNC machine tools.
- Shop floor computer systems.( to include time booking and job pack etc.)
- Quality principles & Inspection techniques
- Deep understanding of PFMEA & Control Plan Documentation
- Inspection techniques.
