Customer Services is looking for a Business Support Consultant who is an extraordinary thinker with a passion for
customer service and has a strong drive for developing exceptional business customer relationships, generating leads,
uncovering opportunities, closing sales, developing metrics and exceeding goals.
This position is virtual for daily operations, however requires in-state travel to events, tradeshows, miscellaneous outreach
activities, department and customer meetings. The Business Support Consultant will be responsible for developing and
maintaining business customer relationships across multiple industries. This position requires pro-active and responsive
customer service with a focus on maximizing customer value (satisfaction), non-energy value added products and
services sales, lead generation for our external Energy Management Solution Sales advisors, and uncovering ongoing
opportunities with our current business customer base.
The Business Support Consultant is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the internal sales relationship
while generating leads for our external sales force. They target potential leads, qualify them, uncover opportunities, and
assist the external sales team in closing sales that provide the client with actionable solutions through our suite of
products and services. To this end, they leverage their industry and business knowledge to create demand and persuade
through the development and presentation of compelling client investment rationales.
The Business Support Consultants responsibilities include the daily ongoing system support for the external sales team,
lead generation through the activity of proactively calling our business customers, cross collaboration and training of
existing and new products and services to other internal groups, weekly metric ownership, cross-collaboration with other
internal groups on measurable, and providing feedback on customer wants and needs to internal product development
teams that will help define new products and services for our business customers.
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Daily ongoing system support for the external sales team
- Lead generation through the activity of proactively calling our business customers
- Weekly metric ownership and communication deliverable
- Report sales activities to upper management
- Manage and maintain accounts of small, medium and large business customers virtually through communication with
customers via telephone, email, associations, outreach events, etc.
- Cross-collaboration with other internal groups on developing metrics, scorecards and measurable
- Consultative and relationship selling strategies to meet sales targets
- Utilize business and industry knowledge to create value propositions
- Execute competitive sales tactics to win and close business while building customer loyalty
- Develop key client relationships including the executive level
- Utilize business and financial knowledge to create value propositions
- Cross collaboration and training of existing and new products and services to other internal groups
- Provide feedback on customer wants and needs to internal product development teams that will help define new
products and services for our business customers.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications or a related field
4+ years of experience
