DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Switch Engineer Electrical and Electronics System Engineering
Job Responsibilities
* Evaluate program electrical switch requirements and develop a plan to support these requirements; fulfil the program requirements for electrical switches through the use of existing prior model/platform switches or new designs that will support a unique program requirement;
* Evaluate applied switches to system compatibility for all new applications
* Work with Studio Engineering, the switch suppliers and the interfacing component (Cross-Functional) teams to assure that all of the switches are properly packaged in CAD at the required milestones
* Lead the switch development process for new and/or modified switches
* Investigate new switch technologies for potential application on Ford vehicles
* Prepare required sourcing packages for new switches, including engineering specifications, cost targets, quality targets, Engineering Statement of Work, etc…
* Conduct design reviews for new and modified switches
* Review validation plans and reports for compliance with specifications
* Negotiate and then manage the targets (Cost, Weight and Quality) for all switches used on the program
* Manage all activities required to support all GPDS deliverables required for switches
