Roush is looking for an Electronic Systems Engineer to join its expanding team in Advanced Engineering to address a diversity of customer projects in the aerospace, automotive and entertainment industries. This Electronics Systems Engineer will be involved in the design, development, management, and testing of electronic hardware and software systems including safety-critical systems through application of standards such as ISO 26262, DO-178C, and IEC 61508. The Electronics Systems Engineer will work directly with internal and external customers and suppliers to support concepts development, product design, analytical validation, prototype builds, and production. This position will be located in our new Troy, MI facility.
Responsibilities
- Development of advanced safety-relevant/mission-critical electronic systems, hardware, and software.
- Requirements development of complex systems, in applications ranging from autonomous vehicles to multi-core microprocessors to electric vehicle powertrains.
- Requirements and test case development, management, and analysis.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers for electronic systems, hardware, and software requirements, change requests, design reviews, and clarifications.
- Design and oversee development of prototype, test, and production equipment.
- Develop functional and technical concepts to design automotive and aerospace electronic systems in a variety of applications.
- Develop solutions using safety standards such as ISO 26262, DO-178C, or IEC 61508.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, is a requirement for this position (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 1-3 years of system engineering experience in areas such as requirements definition and management, test case definition and management, and traceability techniques. (Internships or co-op experience will be considered)
- Ability to communicate and work closely with other engineers, customers, and clients.
- Ability to understand and interpret Matlab/Simulink models is preferred.
- Preferred candidate will have experience in embedded systems architecture or software architecture.
- Preferred candidate will have significant experience in the development of automotive electronics.
