Job Description:
Dematic Corp. has a need at our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters for an Entry Level Controls Engineer in our Customer Service group. The successful candidates will have experience working in the material handling industry. Candidates must have the below qualifications:
* Execute Modernization and Upgrades on existing conveyor systems
* Provide technical support for Estimating, Sales, Engineering teams, and Field Operations.
* Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls platforms a necessity. Siemens experience is a plus.
* Experience with controls hardware design a necessity.
* Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus.
* Willingness to work from high heights and work using lifts.
* Willingness to work weekends, overtime and to travel is a must. 40% ~ 50% travel is to be expected.
Job Family Responsibilities:
Assists in the design of routine systems that integrate hardware and software. Assists in routine material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up. Provides assistance in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs basic tasks and functions for professional field of work. Seeks advice and guidance on nonroutine or problem areas from others. Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex.
Key Working Relationships:
Primarily intra-organizational contacts and some external contacts.
