Systems Technology Group (STG) has immediate opening for DFMEA Engineer for our direct automotive client in Pontiac, MI. Duration is long-term (1+ year).
Job Description:
Facilitate and coordinate the creation of DFMEA documents for engine components/sub systems and systems working with the Design Responsible Engineers and Engine program teams.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis activities
- Integrate reliability assessment methods into ADV Plans
- Apply Accelerated Test Methods, and Design of Experiments methods to ADV Plans
- Perform current product assessments (warranty, field reliability, test data, etc.)
- Establish reliability requirements for Technical Specs. And Statement of Requirements
- Lead DFMEA Planning activities
Required Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Intermediate level
- Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool – Intermediate level
- Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
- Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
- Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
- Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues
- Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
- Strong Data Acquisition and Monitoring Equipment (DAME) planning activities
- Experience in applying reliability methods and performing Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Experience in product testing or analysis
- Strong knowledge of automotive engineering methodology
- Experience in Vehicle Design Process (VDP), Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) process, Failure Mechanisms and Reliability Tools
- Position related experience - 8 years
Required Education/Training:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering *
