Department Summary
The Learning Facilitator for Health, Safety, and Environmental Training is responsible for delivering instruction to
Consumers Energy employees. The individual in this position will actively participate in the learning community to
increase consistency in Consumers Energy training practices and increase the effectiveness of the learning function. The
HSE Instructor will proactively manage internal resources and creatively plan and execute training events within
Consumers Energy that reflect and balance the priorities and resources of the company. Position(s) will be filled as a
Learning Associate or as a Learning Facilitator, dependent upon the candidate's qualifications.
This position will be located at the Grand Rapids Service center.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Present, analyze, and evaluate Health, Safety and Environmental training.
Interface with all levels of personnel and consult with plant/field organizations on training needs or operating concerns
and model expected behaviors to employees.
Travel and train at various company locations with overnight stays.
Commit to the goals of the team along with an energetic and upbeat attitude is essential.
Must be comfortable in an environment where continuous innovation and improvement is the norm.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
The following experience / skills may set you apart from others:
Two or more years of experience in an instructor role.
Ability to understand and interpret relevant training data and create actionable strategies
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
CPLP certification
Experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental fields including OSHA requirements and regulatory compliance, fire
safety, and hazardous materials. Knowledge of Web based management resources such as SharePoint and Learning
Management Systems.
Demonstrated application of instructional design concepts and application.
The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education and experience.
Essential Functions:
Delivers training programs in classrooms, via electronic learning and/or independent study. Maintain training budgets
and coordinates inter-departmental input. Defines objectives; designs, or assists in designing course material; delivers
training; facilitates program evaluations and course material and training aids. Presents development and/or training
concepts to management for review and approval. Provides information, resources, materials and equipment to
departments in support of their training and employee development programs, as available; prepare reports and
correspondence; participate in meetings; compile data. Maintain current knowledge of workplace diversity issues, EEO,
sexual harassment, and ADA regulations, laws, and policies. Uses a variety of computer programs in presenting training
materials. Maintains regular, predictable and punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours at assigned
worksite. Meet travel requirements of the position. Perform the

and overtime.
Hours and Travel:
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 90% of time spent in the office or specific field locations.
