This role is responsible for developing and closing qualified new business through exceptional professional selling skills
by following the Consumer's Energy Sales Process, monitoring, reporting and executing the sales initiatives, projects,
products and services that will increase revenues, market share, and customer satisfaction within the business non-utility
market segment for Consumers Energy.
Job Description/Responsibilities
The Energy Management Solutions Sales Professional is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the sales
relationship with each client/prospect in their portfolio at every level from the executive suite to departmental line
managers. They target potential leads, qualify them, uncover opportunities, and close sales that provide the client with
actionable solutions through our suite of products and services. To this end, they leverage their industry and business
knowledge to create demand and persuade through the development and presentation of compelling client investment
rationales. Product, Services and Solution agreements will encompass all offerings and range in scale from fundamental
to complex, multi-service, multi-year and relationships.
The Energy Management Solutions Sales Professionals responsibilities include the smooth transition of new business
from sales execution to delivery, coaching and mentoring account delivery leaders on client relationship management
issues, and providing feedback on customer wants and needs to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Consultative and relationship selling strategies to meet sales targets
Create entry strategies for new clients and projects
Utilize business and industry knowledge to create value propositions
Execute competitive sales tactics to win and close business
Develop key client relationships including the executive level
Utilize business and financial knowledge to create value propositions
Lead in client contract negotiations
Report sales activities to upper management
Other job essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Deliver against assigned annual quota targets
Create and maintain product, and services sales plan
Responsible for selling complex technical solutions and services
Execute competitive sales tactics to win business
Create proposals and scope of work to clients
Participate in contract negotiations
Works directly with the customer to close sales
Coordinates the Technical team in support of the sale of the product line
Is the key point of contact for the customer throughout sales and service execution
Manage demand and qualify specific product opportunities
Work with internal teams to build holistic solutions to present one Consumers Energy brand to clients
Proven repeatable sales achievement track record and territory growth
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillset
Strong influence and negotiation skills to close sales
Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements
Ability to negotiate and contribute as an effective team player in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Ability to self-manage, multi-task and learn new skills quickly
Exceptional selling skills Professional Sales training preferred
Teamwork, integrity, and customer focus
Manage internal networks through cross functional collaboration
Must be able to utilize CRM software for tracking all sales interactions; call reports, revenue projection, cost, contacts,
etc.
Ensures that all processes and procedures are completed and quality standards are met.
Requirements/Qualifications
Business or Engineering degree or equivalent working experience
5+ years technical industry
This job will be will be filled commensurate with the candidates successful education and experience.
Hours and Travel:
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 10% of time spent in the office or specific field locations.
This position will require the ability to travel between field locations and customer locations throughout Michigan. This
position may include nights and weekend/holiday timeframes.
