Department Summary
As a member of the Real Estate team, this individual is responsible for leading, managing and acquiring land rights
necessary for construction, operation and maintenance of electric and natural gas assets.
The Project Manager shall function in a lead role and will direct, review, and approve the day to day work of contractors in
their assigned area of responsibility. This position is responsible for negotiating the acquisition of complex fee property
purchases and managing land and easement acquisition projects for Consumers Energy in Michigan. May be required to
participate on project development teams activities such as, but not limited to, route selection, feasibility and cost
estimates.

Must be able to make quality decisions on use of real estate assets based on input and alignment with key stakeholders.
Must be able to effectively motivate, direct and manage contract resources
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent land description knowledge
Able to interpret survey drawings, engineering, construction and plan & profile drawings, title and abstracts.
Budgeting knowledge/understanding and analysis capabilities
Must have or be able to obtain a State of Michigan real estate license within 2 months of employment
SR/WA designation preferred.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Real Estate I Land Planning or Business Administration or a combination of related work and
educational experience.
IRWA credentialing desired.
The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education and experience.

The essence of the work that is performed by the Technical Analyst Job Family is a wide variety of technical functions, at
times involving very specific technical disciplines.
At the lowest level in this job family, the work performed may tend to be of a routine and less complex nature where the
work responsibilities can be proficiently performed after a relatively short training period. At this level the employee is
more likely to be able to move to different functional areas of the Company.
At the highest levels in this job family the work performed will tend to be of a complex nature involving knowledge of
various functional/specialized disciplines where the work responsibilities can only be proficiently performed after a
relatively long training / experience-related time period and often requires an advanced degree. The work environment
often includes dealing with risk and limiting exposure.
Leadership, management, facilitation and interaction with senior management will be markedly increased at the mid -
highest levels of this job family while the need for direction and supervision will be markedly decreased. While problem
solving and analysis will likely be required at all levels, recommendation and implementation becomes the norm at the
highest levels and will often have a major bearing on the company's operations. In addition, skills such as the ability to
think on your feet, composure under fire and effective communication across all levels of the organization and with outside
customers/clients become more finely honed at the higher levels.
Essential Functions:
General technical analysis supports the planning, technical analysis, general management, negotiations, transactions,
customer services and auditing of a wide variety of technical and business functions and technical processes of specific
